PickleCast — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 July 2026

PickleCast ("the app") is a pickleball scoreboard for Android phones, Android tablets, and Wear OS watches, developed by Deric Teong ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app does and does not handle. In short: PickleCast does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. The app has no user accounts and requires no sign-in.

Information we collect

We do not collect any personal information. PickleCast has no servers, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. We have no ability to see your scores, your player names, or how you use the app.

Data stored on your device

Photos and on-device text recognition

PickleCast includes an optional "Import From Screenshot" feature for adding players. If you choose to use it:

Local-network sync between your devices

When you use more than one device together (for example a phone, a courtside tablet, and/or a Wear OS watch), PickleCast syncs the live score directly between your own devices over your local Wi-Fi network or the phone's own hotspot. This communication:

Watch-to-phone communication uses Google Play Services (Wearable API), a standard Android capability for communication between a phone and a paired watch.

Permissions the app uses

Data sharing and selling

We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer any personal data, because we do not collect any.

Children's privacy

PickleCast is a general-audience sports scoring app and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and post the revised version at this same URL.
